Give your 2013 fitness regime some focus by dusting down your bicycle and joining our Moonriders Halloween Charity Bike Ride supporting fundraising for The Hunger Project.
As the moon casts shadows across eerily dark London streets for Halloween – join hundreds of other riders on our creepy cycle of the city – gasp as you discover the city in a new light, pedal as you make your way between our frightening pit-stops and enjoy a Halloween celebration with hundreds of other riders!
On a ride where all is not what it seems, activity will start to stir on the haunted streets of London. The Highgate vampire, a barber on Fleet Street, and the supernatural goings-on amid the Tower of London – all come alive as riders pick up the pace. Style yourselves and your bike to fit to the theme, as you sample the pumpkin soup and blood juice on the way. This certainly won’t be a Friday Fright Night you’ll forget in a hurry…
You can expect a ride with lots of surprises, ghoulish characters and a great party atmosphere!
Set your own goal at your own pace – meet fellow Moonriders along the way or join as a team with friends and colleagues
The Halloween Moonriders Route
Setting out from our start venue, a maze of secret hidden catacombs close to London’s Waterloo station the cycle route loops around the city of London visiting all corners – East to West, North to South. The route will be mapped, signed and marshaled by our teams of High-Vis Zombies along the way with rest and energy snack stops en-route. You wont want to get lost on this London Cycle Event!
The 80km (or 100km – if you decided to cycle our added loop!) route follows a figure of 8 blood trail across the city – from East to West – returning to the The Crypt at the half way point to dine on some very hot food at Hell’s Kitchen – cauldron curry, chilli con carnage, blood soup and more!
The route loosely follows some of the city’s most notorious horror spots – and includes 2 midpoint stops with snacks – one staffed by our dedicated team of witches, the other by a motley collection of vampires.
‘Team Hunger’ Moonriders will be fully supported with their fundraising and on their ride with a hot meal en-route, breakfast at dawn, route planning, fundraising support, bike mechanics, support vehicles and medics. Start Fundraising

How Long Will It Take?
It depends on you and the type of bike you might use for the challenge. Generally we’d expect an Elite Pro Road Racer to complete the full distance in 2.5 hours and those using Boris Bikes, Tandem Cycles, Mountain Bike and BMX Bikes to complete the challenge in 3-6 hours.
This is a fun cycle challenge! So most of you will be cycling leisurely and enjoying the experience of cycling at night along the eerily quiet streets across London.
Please read the Action Challenge Terms and Conditions prior to signing up for the event.
All that’s needed is for you to sign up and get some bike lights! Email firstname.lastname@example.org at The Hunger Project if you need any support.
