Who is feeding the world this Christmas?
Is it the giant tractors of the big farms?
No. It is our Mum and all the other Mums in the villages of Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Every morning our Mum rises before dawn to walk the miles for water and firewood the family needs.
Then our Mum tends the fields using tools that have not changed for 1000 years.
Our Mums grow nearly ALL the food in Africa, nearly two thirds of the food in South Asia and Latin America.
In fact our Mums not only grow half of all the food grown on earth, they transport it, process it and sell it in the market.
Our Mum does all this while taking care of us. Invest in our Mums this Christmas
Things are changing for our Mums
Mums from nearby villages are visiting us and forming groups with ours, they are setting up banks, taking loans to improve their farms, buying grain equipment, installing wells and learning about climate change and how to protect the village and our crops.
We now have mums on our village council, they have stopped child marriages, mum now has access to healthcare and education and our sisters are now going to school for the first time.
This Christmas, Invest in our Mums as they are the key to ending hunger. The greatest gift you’ll ever make.
