Registration Checklist

Before registering for the London 2 Brighton Challenge please ensure:

1. You have read the FAQs for the event.London 2 Brighton Challenge Walk, Jog or Ultra Run 100km - Register Now

2. You have the following information to hand for yourself – if you’re setting up a team, do this first then team members can register themselves once the team has been created:

  • Full name London 2 Brighton Challenge | Walk, Jog, Run - 12 May, 2012
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Next of Kin (name/contact no.)
  • T-Shirt size
  • Valid debit/credit card for registration payment

All participants (individuals and team members, runners and walkers) pay a non-refundable registration fee of £85 to sign up to the challenge and commit to a fundraising target of £400 for The Hunger Project (includes Gift Aid). Registration is done online via this website, and you can sign up in one of three ways; as an individual, as a ‘team captain’ creating a new team or as someone wanting to join an exisiting team (ie already set up by a team captain). Your Just Giving sponsorship page is set up as part of the registration process but you can also choose MyDonate or Virgin Money Giving.

You will be offered appropriate hourly start time windows (separate for walkers or runners); these are on a first come first serve basis so register early to secure a time that suits. When choosing a time don’t forget the event starts in Richmond and you will need to register approximately 60 minutes before your start time.

IndividualsLondon 2 Brighton Challenger 2012

You can either sign up to the challenge as a walker (15 hours+ target time) or as a runner (target time of under 15 hours). If you register as an individual, you can form a team at a later stage should you wish. Please contact us if you want to do this.


Firstly all teams entering need to be set up by a ‘team captain’. Then the additional team members can sign up by linking in to that pre-registered team.

Creating a New Team

If you are entering a new team you will automatically become the ‘team captain’ for this team and also need to supply:

  • your chosen team name
  • anticipated size of the team
  • if your team are walking or running the challenge
  • preferred start time window for the team

Once the team is established by the team captain, the other members of the team will EACH need to sign up as detailed below. NOTE the team captain only registers themselves.

Joining a Pre-exisiting Team

If you are joining a pre-existing team you will need to confirm (during your registration):

  • team captain’s email address (that they used to register with)
  • the team captain’s name
  • the team name

Fundraising Commitment

By registering onto the London 2 Brighton Challenge either as an individual or as part of a team you agree to the conditions of entry and to raise a minimum of £400 in sponsorship for your nominated charity. The Pledge to Raise applies to each entrant individually.

Roughly 50% of the fundraising target must be received by The Hunger Project by 12 April 2013 (6 weeks prior) to confirm your place on the challenge and ideally all sponsorship monies will be received by the charity prior to the event and certainly no later than 4 weeks after the event 23 June 2013.

The Hunger Project also pays a fee of between £75-£99 per participant (depending on our recruitment levels) to the event organiser (Action Challenge) for services associated with marketing and organising the event.

Some challengers prefer to cover this extra fee (to ensure 100% of the money raised goes to the charity) by making a personal donation on their fundraising page – if you would like to do this please get in touch with mark.speirs@thp.org or call him on 07595 222 354.

Once you have signed up to the challenge at stage 2 of registration you will be directed to set up your online fundraising page with Action Challenge’s fundraising partner JustGiving – (Alternatively you can use our preferred online giving partner – MyDonate {FEE FREE} or Virgin Money Giving) all you need to do is follow the simple steps and you can start fundraising!
