Paul Kay is a British ballet dancer & Soloist with The Royal Ballet.
Born in Oxford, Paul trained with Gaynor Walters in Devon and then at The Royal Ballet School, dancing the Flower Festival at Genzano pas de deux for his graduation, 2003.
He joined The Royal Ballet that year and was promoted to Soloist, 2008.
His repertory includes Hans-Peter/The Nutcracker, Bronze Idol, Kolia, Puck, Squirrel Nutkin, Jester (Cinderella), Alain, Bratfisch, blue boy (Les Patineurs), Judas Tree, Manon, Napolidivertissements and Chroma. He created roles in Wayne McGregor’s Qualia, Infra and Acis and Galatea (Royal Opera), Christopher Wheeldon’s DGV: Danse à grande vitesse and Kim Brandstrup’s Rushes – Fragments of a Lost Story.
Paul Kay & World Hunger Day
Paul performed at The Royal Ballet’s Gary Avis and Friends September 2011. This was the first regional World Hunger Day event and took place at the largest theatre in East Anglia. It was also the first time that dancers from both The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet had taken to the stage at this theatre since the 1960’s.
