Nehemiah Kish is an American ballet dancer & Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Nehemiah trained at Canada’s National Ballet School and joined The National Ballet of Canada in 2001. He was made a Principal, 2005, then joined Royal Danish Ballet as Principal, 2008.
His repertory includes James, Basilio, Albrecht, Onegin, Prince (Nutcracker), Prince Florimund, Romeo, Petruchio (Taming of the Shrew), Solor, Danilo (Merry Widow) and Song of the Earth as well as the title role in Apollo and Principal parts in ‘Diamonds’ (Jewels), Four Temperaments (‘Phlegmatic’), Stravinsky Violin Concerto and the Tchaikovsky pas de deux.
He has also danced in many works by Jerome Robbins, Glen Tetley, James Kudelka and Christopher Wheeldon.
He joined The Royal Ballet as a Principal this Season, and has since danced Vershinin, Prince Siegfried, Human (‘Still Life’ at the Penguin Café), Theme and Variations (pas de deux), Voluntaries (pas de deux) and Les Patineurs (white couple pas de deux).
Nehemiah Kish & World Hunger Day
Nehemiah performed at The Royal Ballet’s Gary Avis and Friends September, 2011. This was the first regional World Hunger Day event and took place at the largest theatre in East Anglia. It was also the first time that dancers from both The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet had taken to the stage at this theatre since the 1960’s.
