Born in Bath, Leanne is a First Artist with the The Royal Ballet.
Born in Bath, Leanne trained there at The Dorothy Colbourne School of Dance before attending The Royal Ballet Lower and Upper School.
After graduating in 2003, she joined the Company, promoted to First Artist this Season.
Her repertory includes Clara, Princess Louise (Mayerling), Giselle (pas de six), White Cat and Red Ridding Hood (The Sleeping Beauty) and Asphodel Meadows. She has created roles in Wheeldon’s DGV: Danse à grande vitesse, Tuckett’s Timecode, as well as works by Jonathan Watkins and Liam Scarlett in Draft Works.
Leanne Cope & World Hunger Day
Leanne performed at The Royal Ballet’s Gary Avis and Friends in September. This was the first regional World Hunger Day event and took place at the largest theatre in East Anglia. It was also the first time that dancers from both The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet had taken to the stage at this theatre since the 1960’s.
